New Bentley Continental GTC spied on the Nurburgring

Bentley"s next drop-top Continental GT has been spied again, this time the upcoming Continental GTC spied undergoing dynamic assesment at the Nurburgring.

These latest spy shots peel back the disguise even more, though there"s nothing surprising about the car"s appearance. The GTC"s body shape sticks closely to the GT coupe, with the only evident changes to be found above the windowline and at the back thanks to a flat, deck style bootlid and rear end.

Previous spy shots of the Continental GTC undergoing winter testing showed the car with the roof folded down, revealing a chrome-lined rear deck under the fabric roof and a removable wind deflector sitting above the rear seats.

Though the GTC sticks with a fabric roof over a folding metal setup, expect improvements to the material or insulation to boost refinement further. First versions will be powered by a 626bhp W12 engine, while a V8 powered variant and a plug-in hybrid powertrain will also be offered at a later date.

Like the new GT, the GTC will be a slightly lighter car than the model it replaces, although at around 2.3 tonnes it"s still one of the heavier convertibles on the market. The cabin will transfer over unchanged, but expect reduced rear seat space over the coupe.

Don"t be surprised to see a slight price increase over the old GTC"s £165,000 figure when it launches later this summer.
