The Hyundai i30 N fastback has shed a significant amount of camouflage since the last time we spotted it a few months ago. Now, Hyundai is putting the fastback through its paces on the Nürburgring Nordschleife, as seen in this latest round of spy shots.
Hyundai has revealed the grille and headlights, although it’s no surprise the model looks similar to the i30 N hatch in these areas. What’s more interesting is the fastback’s sleek side profile with fluid character lines. The roof slopes softly into what appears to be a rear spoiler and shapely back end. From what we can see, the taillights look like they could be different from those on the hatch. Large wheels with red brake calipers finish off the look.

Expect the N-badged fastback to offer the same engine as the i30 N hatch. That means it should receive a standard 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine good for 246 hp. However, with a Performance package, the i30 N can make up to 271 ponies. Power on the hatch is routed through a six-speed manual, but it will likely also offer a dual-clutch transmission later in production.

We don’t expect Hyundai to bring the i30 N fastback in the U.S. since it isn’t giving us the hatchback version. But we are getting the Veloster N hatch that also utilizes a 2.0-liter turbo-four and a six-speed manual.
