Whether or not you like the way it looks, or whether or not you’re into outrageously expensive supercars at all, automotive enthusiasts can appreciate the 2019 McLaren Senna as an impressive feat of engineering. Borrowing from the 720S’ core structure and powertrain and the P1’s suspension and braking system, McLaren combined key elements of two great cars to create the Senna. The new model will make its public debut on March 6 at the Geneva auto show, but until then, here’s a look at the 2019 McLaren Senna by the numbers.
300 – That’s the number of hours it takes to hand-assemble each of the hypercars at the McLaren Production Center in Woking, Surrey, England.
789/590 – The Senna produces 789 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque from its mid-mounted 4.0-liter twin-turbo V-8. This is 78 more hp and 22 more lb-ft of torque than the engine in the 720S. To maximize performance, McLaren put in a new air intake and carbon-fiber plenum, special lightweight cams and pistons, two high-flow fuel pumps, and new sensors allowing higher combustion pressures and temperatures.
